INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL FOR EXPERIMENTATION AND
SOUND CREATION
La Tostadora – Proyectos Sonoro-visuales
The independent project “La Tostadora, Proyectos sonoro-visuales” invites all creators and colectives of any nationality to
participate in its fifth international open call, titled “MEDIA-AURIS”, which
asks for pieces made from diverse practices involving sound as matter for
creation: noise, radio art, soundscapes, circuit bending, electro-acoustic
experimentation, coding, electronics and so on. The curatorial guidelines will
approach to the concept of lightness as a phenomenon that materializes in
aesthetic-artistic practices. We look for sound pieces that dialogue with this
concept from its creative characteristics, where the fugacious, ephemeral,
fluctuating, day-to-day, movement, floating and similar approaches of the lightness
as reflection in the sound creation are latent, with experimentation with sound, use of artisanal,
analogue and digital technologies, noise as an aesthetic possibility, listening
as an active exercise, free improvisation and the diverse possibilities of
sound creation today as starting point.
Selected pieces will be
exhibited as part of activities programmed in the Art House Madrid museum
circuit: ("The Neomudejar" museum, Zapadores Museum, "The city
of art") located in Madrid, Spain. During July of the present year (2019),
as well as a serie of exhibitions that will itinerate in the country (Colombia)
during the yeart.
CONDITIONS
1.
There will be two categories to
participate in the call, which are divided by latitude
-National (projects from
Colombian creators and foreigners who reside in Colombia)
-International (Projects from creators outside
Colombia (Other countries of South America, North America, Central America,
Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania).
2-
Each artist or collective can only submit a maximum of two
pieces.
3-
The sound pieces must be original and all the rights must belong
to the artist.
4- Submitted pieces must be
made during or after 2017
5- The length of the pieces
will have a maximum of 6’ minutes
6-
After the piece is selected, authors allow “La Tostadora artes
sonoro-visuales” to exhibit and circulate the pieces in different artistic and
cultural scenarios located in Colombia and outside Colombia, as well as the use
of the image (physical and digital) without lucrative or commercial purposes,
only for artistic, academic and cultural purposes.
7- The selected pieces will
be part of the sonorous archive of the Project “La Tostadora-artes
sonoro-visuales” only with cultural purposes of digitalization and classification
of the archive.

Participants must send their pieces via Wetransfer to the email: latostadora@hotmail.com, with a
sheet in Word or pdf which have to have the next information:
-Name/s of the author/authors, city, country
-Name of the piece
-Synopsis
-Length and year of realization
-Category
-The pieces must be sent
in mp3 or wav
-Attach one image in JPG
format to the piece
-Deadline is 23/06/2019
